About HIMCOFED
Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Development Federation Ltd. (HIMCOFED) was established in the year 1960 at the initiative of the Department of Cooperation Himachal Pradesh, Government of Himachal Pradesh, with the objective to promote, develop, and strengthen the cooperative movement in the State. The Federation works to educate, guide, and assist cooperative societies and the general public in building a strong and self-reliant cooperative system.
HIMCOFED conducts Cooperative Education Programmes, Training Courses, and Publication activities for members, employees, and office bearers of cooperative institutions. The Federation operates Cooperative Training Centres at Mashobra (Shimla) and Garli (Kangra), where regular training programmes including Diploma in Cooperative Management are organized as per guidelines of National Council for Cooperative Training.
The Federation also publishes cooperative literature, magazines, and training material to spread awareness about cooperative laws, management, accounting, and modern practices. Through education, training, and capacity building, HIMCOFED plays an important role in improving efficiency, transparency, and good governance in cooperative societies across Himachal Pradesh.
Vision
The vision of HIMCOFED is to strengthen and modernize the cooperative movement in Himachal Pradesh through quality education, training, and capacity building. In this direction, HIMCOFED has constructed a modern Cooperative Training Centre at Panjabar, District Una, named after Mian Hira Singh, in recognition of his valuable contribution to the cooperative movement. This centre is envisioned as a hub of excellence where, in the future, HIMCOFED will introduce postgraduate courses and degree programmes. The institute is proposed to be affiliated with Tribhuvan National University, and through academic collaboration with the university, HIMCOFED aims to achieve new heights in education and professional training. This initiative will not only enhance the skills and knowledge of cooperative personnel but will also play a vital role in the upliftment and strengthening of the cooperative movement in Himachal Pradesh.

Printing Press
A Printing Press was established by the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Development Federation Ltd. (HIMCOFED) in the year 1971 with the objective of providing stationery and printing facilities to cooperative institutions in the State at reasonable rates. The press prints registers, forms, books, training material, reports, magazines, and other official documents required by cooperative societies and government offices.
In recent years, the Printing Unit has been modernized with the installation of three offset printing machines, which has improved the quality as well as the printing capacity of the press. After modernization, the Federation has also been undertaking printing work for various Government departments and institutions of the State, in addition to cooperative institutions.
The Printing Press continues to support cooperative education, training, and publication activities of the Federation and provides reliable and economical printing services for strengthening the cooperative movement in Himachal Pradesh.
